The Arden House was a self-contained renaissance of feminist-anarchist-D.I.Y. art and community in Santa Barbara. Home to my friends Tovi, Matt, and a slowly rotating troop of super-girls, the Arden House hosted many an art show, food and music party, and the occasional circus performance.
The house has since been remodeled and rented to normal people, while its former inhabitants have moved varying distances north. It was a special place and a special time, and I'm thankful to have been there to see it.
